ENABLING BETTER INFORMED DECISIONS

New technologies are influencing strategies for learning enhancements, the student experience, student recruitment and retention, and more.  Learning spaces must change if they are to enable hands-on experiential models, critical thinking, and real-life simulations that connect learning to the highly digital world of work. What do these new collaborative learning spaces look like? From individual standalone hubs in libraries and social spaces, to large cohort lecture-style rooms.  And how should we incorporate them into short-term, medium-term, and longer-term strategic developments? This isn’t a classroom of the future; this is a classroom of now.  The Sticky Campus Roadshow features a Digital Classroom that will provide you with ideas and experiences of furniture, technology, acoustics, and more to support active learning pedagogies that deliver better learning outcomes and maximise space utilisation.
Thursday 14 th  June 2018 DSA Workshop in the Sticky Campus Roadshow Inclusion and accessibility is transitioning from highlighting and supporting the needs of individuals with ‘mild’ conditions, to creating spaces  where design and (assistive) EdTech provide an inclusive learning environment for everyone, and which increase student productivity. Assistive technologies have not developed significantly over the last 20 years because of the individual nature of their supply and support – through the DSA structures.  Many are therefore currently unable to help in group collaborative sessions. Join Claro Software, Dolphin, Notetalker, Nuance (Dragon), and Wyvern Business Systems to: - Get hands-on with AT software and trial the Wyvern Training Portal to support students' learning more effectively - Hear the latest developments from leading AT software publishers - Learn from and share best practice with peers All attendees will receive free software, access to the Wyvern Training Portal and a certificate of attendance. These events are suitable for DSA Assessors and other professionals working in roles to support students' learning. 13-30 - 17.05
